WCMA Safety Standards

In response to these risks, the American Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) established the ANSI/WCMA A100.1 safety standards, which recommend removing cords from window coverings and using cordless options, especially in homes with young children.

  • Install cordless window coverings or those with inaccessible cords in homes with young children.
  • Keep cribs, beds, furniture, and toys away from windows and cords.
  • Shorten or move cords out of reach to prevent access by young children.
  • Blackout or light-filtering materials for better rest
  • Safe design with cordless options or cord cleats
  • Privacy for added peace of mind
  • Long-lasting and low-maintenance
  • Bold colors for energetic spaces or soft hues for tranquility
